Response to Babyji in India
Since Babyji was released I've been asked at every reading what the reception of the book has been in India. The novel was finally released in India earlier this month and reviews are beginning to appear.
India Today, July 18, 2005 says: Like Lolita, Babyji describes with complete lack of restraint the details of Anamika's sexual escapades knowing fully well that they will be judged reprehensible by many. But like many "scandalous" novels, it is a very pointed investigation of morality and perhaps a call to refresh the "rule book".
The Telegraph, Calcutta calls it a significant new novel. Mumbai's Mid-Day also has a review. You'll need to scroll down the site for these two.

The book is "Breathtaking"!
There should be a sign sayin "Not To Be Read Before Exams" ...(Seriously) as I doubt anyone can have such a balance Anamika had... :)
I never thought books like this are also written, though i havent read much of books, but still. I really feel 'Babyji' should be really promoted in India as It will grow the teens from feelin guilty of the way we are physicaly and emotiinaly...
Really I had a guilt feelin while reading the book tht im reading a book like this...but only by the last 3 chaptrs i felt "It was the right thing I read 'Babyji. I'm proud of it! And If I ever have kids, Specially Girl,..I'll gift her this on her 16th B'day."
I think ever guy-girl (of delhi Specially) may or may not able to understand her...but will be able to relate wid her and her emotions jumpin like an electron!
In sumup, whoever you are, do read it (if you are not abt to have exams i.e.)...and im sure you wont be able to...Aaaa...Continue reading it! ;)

It's a fantastic book. It's good to see some positive reviews coming from India. I lived in Mumbai for a while. I don't think Indians give themselves quite enough credit. They're often more open-minded than they realize. I hope Babyji does exceptionally well, worldwide!

A friend of mine suggested me the book with a supporting line
"Dude its full lesbo stuff" - (the statement's sans the profanity)
Though personally appreciate the genre of writing u are on.
